Coping with acute, chronic, or serious illness ourselves or being a caregiver to someone with an illness is one of life’s most difficult challenges. Illness forever affects how we view ourselves, our relationships, and how our lives were “supposed” to go. Our experience of illness is also impacted by everything else we have been through in our lives.

Each of us will experience being a caregiver or a care recipient at some point, and many people find that specialized therapeutic support can help them navigate the specific challenges that illness presents. I am nationally board certified in palliative care and have 10 years of experience working with people experiencing many different types of illnesses and with those close to them. I am passionate about working with patients and caregivers facing neurologic conditions such as Parkinson’s, ALS, stroke, and dementia, as well as with those dealing with cancer, heart and lung problems, and more.

By working collaboratively and compassionately together, we will explore topics such as uncertainty, loss, identity, meaning-making, and resilience. I am particularly interested in cultivating the attuned and open space required to delve into mortality and end-of-life issues, though I do enjoy working with patient and caregivers at any stage or severity of illness.
